Adriatic Sea
I'm on the road again traveling to a place I've never been before. First let me say that everyone I know that are secure in themselves and that are well traveled themselves are so happy for me. They have shared their own experiences, made suggestions and reached out to their friends to make sure I get to the 'must see' spots. Thank you to those friends of mine who are thoughtful, loving, understanding, and encouraging. They realize our time on this planet is limited and that we should make the most of it.
Where in the world am I? Croatia. Across the Adriatic Sea from Italy (another place I've never been before). This is my birthday gift to myself. It's a place I've envisioned going for more than three years now. I had vision of blue water, pastel colored houses perched on hillsides, great sea food, and friendly people. I don't know why it's been stuck in my head but I had to go. So when I was thinking about where to go for my birthday I said "why not?" And here I am after a day and a half travel starting my journey in Dubrovnik near the southern most tip of Croatia. Yes, once again I make the trip alone.
Getting here has not been bad. The stars did align. A lengthy break in rain in California means no flight delays. Drop my car to office lot and take a nice clean relaxing music filled taxi ride to airport. Grab my currency, fruit and cheese snack, and get on a plane. I made it here safely and my driver is on time waiting for me at gate in Dubrovnik. We drive through the hilly one way streets that hover over the sea--such beautiful sites. We make it to my hotel wherein I have a room with a view of the Adriatic Sea and the city. I end my day here with day sitting in the restaurant having sea bass and a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the Adriatic Sea.
spectacular!
